HYDRO BUILD SPREE IN VIEW
Pumped storage hydropower (PSH) is poised for a major revival with nine projects – including several that are shovel-ready – totalling 10.3GW of power and 160 gigawatt-hours of storage capacity in development.
Pending suitable terms in the government’s new cap and floor mechanism, details of which were published this month, the most advanced schemes could be online by the early 2030s and will be the first built in the country for over 40 years.
